Kitchen Remodeling does NOT have to be a Nightmare!

After reading the article titled 'The Nightmare of Kitchen Remodeling' in the February 2015 issue of SoCo Magazine, you may feel a little unsure or afraid of moving forward with a long awaited kitchen remodel. Don't be!

We were very flattered to be selected by SoCo magazine as the professionals with the right approach to the renovating process.  When they interviewed us, the most important thing we wanted to let the consumer know is that it does NOT have to be a nightmare! By taking extra steps and only hiring contractor/tradesmen we trust, things can actually run pretty smooth. Yes, you will be inconvenienced as the most important room in your home is missing... BUT if you are prepared for this, it really won't be the end of the world. Our team knows first hand what it is like to go through this (one of us being 8 months pregnant!) and we always share our tips and tricks on how to survive.

When you begin the process, you will start to understand how much is involved and how easy it is for things to fall through the cracks. This is where we come in. Our job is to minimize and head off any potential snags that may arise during your renovation. This service is what sets us apart from the big box stores and lumber yards. We take a lot of time to hand select contractors/tradespeople to work on our projects, as our design and hard work is only as good as the installers and subcontractor that are hired to complete the work. With that said, it is important to understand that no job is ever perfect. The important thing to know is that we pride ourselves in working very hard to maintain an organized schedule, solve any issues that may arise in a timely manner, and stay in constant communication with the contractors/tradespeople on the job. We provide extremely detailed diagrams for ease of installation and to avoid a complete guessing game on the contractors part. Kitchens (especially detailed ones) are gigantic puzzles that need to be assembled and the last thing our client needs is a frustrated contractor guessing where everything fits together. We're there to guide everyone through the process and make it as stress free as possible!

We hope this helps you understand that the process doesn't have to be a nightmare! We will leave you with this letter from a recent client:

"The Details team was there through the whole installation insuring that everything went as planned and eliminating any potential problems.  They were so supportive and cheered us on to the finish line. The whole process went so smoothly.  It speaks to your knowledge, attention to detail and how much you care about your customers.  I would have no hesitation in recommending the Kitchen and Bath Details team to anyone looking to upgrade their kitchen."

Inviting Snipatuit Kitchen, Mudroom and Master Bath

It was such a pleasure working with a wonderful couple on this beautiful home remodel.  It thrills us immensely to read the review they posted for us on Houzz:

"Just wanted to give a shout out to Kitchen and Bath details and the staff Tena, Jill, Kat and Lauren for all of their help in a big renovation project that was a long time coming.. I was living in a dated cramped kitchen for many years and finally the time had come to do the much needed renovation.. I had lots of ideas in my head but I could not be sure that it would be designed right. I had Kitchen and Bath details come out to the house and I met with Tena. She knew what my vision was and that I was game for any changes she wanted to do to the interior of my home. With her vision and tape measure in hand she came up with a design on paper that was exactly what I visioned. Cabinets were in perfect condition and quartz countertops were also on installation day. My contractor was on budget and on time. No delays. Amazing details were added. Some surprise gifts were given to me by my husband and that included the Wolf steam convection oven and wolf range with a built in grill and the biggest sub zero refrigerator I will ever own. Jill handled all the appliance ordering and once again EXCELLENT! No delays and in perfect condition on installation day. Also Tena's designed included a mud room and master bathroom. Cabinetry was made by Starmark kitchen and bath Cabinetry and it looks amazing. We did buttercream on the main cabinets and change it up on the island with a Mahogany finish. I could not be any happier. Any minor issues which were very few we're handle by Lauren and Kat and were immediately taken care on that day. The whole project team is very professional friendly and a VERY happy experience by my husband and I. I highly recommend this company in any renovation projects for your own home. Thanks Kitchen and Bath details for a kitchen and bath that I will enjoy for a very long time... "

Here's a look at their fabulous new space! Wouldn't you love to cook in this kitchen?? Our photographer was so thrilled to see that our client actually WAS cooking (take note of the Wolf E Series Wall Oven perfectly baking a yummy lasagna)!

Kitchen Backsplash

The kitchen backsplash is always an area of concern when it comes to selecting materials and finalizing the kitchen design. Do you use a small stone backsplash with paint? Tile? Full stone backsplash? There are a lot of options out there, which makes it overwhelming. Our best advice is to start looking through magazines, idea books, and photos of our past projects for inspiration. Better Homes & Gardens released a great article featuring all different backsplash ideas. Click here to check it out! There are some great options – and unique ones too! And we are always here to help! Although we don't sell tile, we are still available for design consultations when going through the selection process!
