Frank Lloyd Wright Inspired KITCHEN Renovation

Our Wright Inspired Reno clients approached us with a fun challenge.  We were asked to design a “unique” space that would fit with their home’s Frank Lloyd Wright architecture.  We decided to move away from the dated oak wood for the cabinetry and selected maple in a warm honey stain, which coordinated well with the wood trim throughout the home.

In a great effort to be green, our clients wanted to reuse their tile floor, the majority of their existing appliances, as well as the white Corian countertops, which were in great condition.  With the tile floor remaining the same, we were locked into the exiting footprint of the kitchen area.

We added in fun “Wright” style details throughout the design and our clients love the end result!

New Year... New Display!

Our new Embassy by Omega Cabinetry display is COMPLETE! We are calling it "California Contemporary". The sleek pure white SileStone counters compliment the warm maple cabinetry and beachy glass backsplash tile (thank you Nate Picard of Picard Tiling!). This display houses a variety of cool storage inserts while keeping the design really simple and clean. We are featuring a fully integrated SubZero Refrigerator/Freezer combo unit and a Wolf Microwave Drawer. The simple square undermount sink is by Dawn and the contemporary faucet is by Waterstone Faucets, made in California.

Stop in soon to check it out in person!

Kitchen Tile Shopping Guide

FAQ of the day: When should tile be used in a kitchen? How much tile? Backsplash only? Floor only? Both? Is glass tile a good choice? Is it safe to use travertine on a floor?

These are all great questions! To help answer some of them, we wanted to post this article from the 'Elle Décor' website. If you are considering tile for your backsplash and/or floor, please take a minute to read through this article.

Kitchen Tile Shopping Guide

Tena worked with Bill Barr of Surroundings on this beautiful kitchen. Bill selected gorgeous glass tile for the backsplash and arranged it in a vertical fashion instead of the typical horizontal layout. Super funky and very unique!
